GTARP:Network Official Server Rules

Welcome to the official GTARP:Network Game Regulations.

GTARP:Network is an English-speaking, strict text-only roleplay server on FiveM.

By playing on GTARP:Network, you agree to follow these rules, respect the roleplay environment, and accept that staff may intervene when rules are broken or when the health of the community is at risk.

These regulations exist to protect serious roleplay, not to create unnecessary bureaucracy.

Roleplay First. Administration Second.

1. General Principles

GTARP:Network is built around serious text-based roleplay.

Players are expected to:

  • Roleplay at all times while in-game.
  • Remain realistic within the world.
  • Respect IC and OOC separation.
  • Use typed communication for all character interaction.
  • Avoid behavior that damages roleplay quality.
  • Follow staff instructions when required.
  • Use reports and tickets responsibly.

Rules are applied with context, common sense, and fairness.

Staff may take action against behavior not specifically listed if it clearly harms the server, abuses systems, damages roleplay, or creates an unfair advantage.

2. Text-Only Roleplay

GTARP:Network is a text-only roleplay server.

Voice roleplay is not used.

All in-character communication must be typed through the appropriate in-game systems.

This includes:

  • Normal speech.
  • /me actions.
  • /do descriptions.
  • /ame short actions.
  • /ado scene descriptions.
  • Phone messages.
  • Radio communication.
  • IC advertisements.
  • IC websites and social platforms.

Players may not use external voice communication to replace in-game roleplay.

Using Discord, TeamSpeak, voice calls, streams, or other external communication to coordinate IC actions is considered metagaming unless you are required to join Discord/TeamSpeak channels for official Factions such as LSPD, BCSO, etc.

3. Language Rules

GTARP:Network is an English-speaking community.

Public and OOC communication must be in English.

This includes:

  • OOC chat.
  • Support tickets.
  • Reports.
  • Forum posts, unless a section allows otherwise.
  • Discord public channels.
  • Staff communication.

IC communication should generally be in English so other players can understand and participate.

Accents, slang, cultural speech patterns, and limited foreign words may be used for character flavor, but they must not make roleplay impossible to understand.

Players may not use another language to hide information, avoid moderation, exclude others from a scene, or bypass server rules.

4. In Character & Out Of Character

Players must clearly separate IC and OOC information.

IC means In Character.
This is what your character says, knows, sees, hears, believes, and experiences inside the roleplay world.

OOC means Out Of Character.
This is anything outside the roleplay world, such as Discord, UCP, forums, reports, staff information, streams, private messages, or real-life knowledge.

You may not use OOC information IC.

Examples of OOC information include:

  • Discord messages.
  • Forum posts.
  • Reports.
  • UCP profiles.
  • Staff discussions.
  • Streams.
  • Information from another character.
  • Private messages outside the server.

Your character only knows what they learned through roleplay.

5. Metagaming

Metagaming is using OOC information for IC purposes.

Examples of metagaming include:

  • Using Discord to call backup IC.
  • Using a stream to find someone.
  • Using information from another character.
  • Recognizing someone by name without being introduced.
  • Using staff or report information IC.
  • Using UCP or forum information your character did not obtain IC.

Metagaming is prohibited.

The severity of punishment depends on intent, impact, evidence, and history.

6. Powergaming

Powergaming is forcing actions, outcomes, abilities, or situations onto another player without giving them a fair chance to respond.

Players may describe what they attempt to do.

Players may not automatically decide the outcome for others.

Incorrect:
/me punches John in the face, knocking him unconscious instantly.

Correct:
/me attempts to punch John in the face.

Examples of powergaming include:

  • Forcing injuries.
  • Forcing searches.
  • Forcing restraints.
  • Ignoring serious injuries.
  • Acting unrealistically strong or immune.
  • Refusing to allow reasonable responses.
  • Using game mechanics to avoid realistic consequences.

Roleplay should be cooperative, not forced.

7. Roleplay Standards

Players are expected to maintain a reasonable standard of roleplay.

This does not mean every sentence must be perfect, but players must make a genuine effort.

Players should:

  • Use /me and /do properly.
  • Give others time to respond.
  • Respect realistic consequences.
  • Avoid low-effort or troll behavior.
  • Avoid treating the server as a deathmatch or grind server.
  • Develop believable characters.

Players may not refuse to roleplay simply because the situation is inconvenient.

Leaving, ignoring, running away unrealistically, or refusing to respond to valid roleplay may result in punishment.

8. Roleplay First

GTARP:Network follows a Roleplay First philosophy.

Not every IC conflict requires staff.

Players are encouraged to solve character problems through roleplay whenever possible.

Staff should only become involved when:

  • A rule is broken.
  • A player refuses to roleplay.
  • A situation becomes OOC harassment.
  • A system is abused.
  • Roleplay quality is being damaged.

Character conflict is not automatically rulebreaking.

Arguments, rivalries, arrests, robberies, faction conflicts, betrayals, and criminal activity are normal parts of roleplay when done properly.

9. Character Rules

All player characters must be 18 years or older.

Characters should be believable within the world of GTARP:Network.

Character names must be realistic and appropriate.

Not allowed:

  • Celebrity names.
  • Meme names.
  • Offensive names.
  • Names copied from real criminals for shock value.
  • Names intended to troll.
  • Names containing titles or ranks without IC approval.

Character Consistency

Characters should remain reasonably consistent throughout their development.

Major personality changes, criminal involvement, faction changes, or major life changes should occur through roleplay and character development rather than suddenly appearing without explanation.

Players may not completely reinvent an existing character whenever it becomes convenient.

Characters should have realistic strengths, weaknesses, fears, limitations, and goals.

Unrealistic Characters

Not allowed:

  • Superhuman characters.
  • Characters immune to fear.
  • Characters immune to pain.
  • Characters immune to consequences.
  • Characters possessing unrealistic abilities without roleplay justification.
  • Characters created solely to troll, disrupt, or bypass rules.

Players may roleplay a wide range of character concepts, but characters must still fit within the standards of serious roleplay.

10. Alternative Characters

Players may have multiple characters, but each character must be treated as separate.

You may not:

  • Transfer knowledge between characters.
  • Transfer money or property to benefit another character.
  • Use one character to help another character.
  • Use one character to avoid consequences on another.
  • Use alternate characters to spy on factions or players.
  • Store assets for another character.
  • Hide criminal proceeds.
  • Transfer businesses.
  • Transfer properties.
  • Transfer vehicles.
  • Influence faction decisions.
  • Artificially support another character.
  • Circumvent roleplay consequences.

Each character must develop independently through roleplay.

11. Deathmatching

Deathmatching is attacking, injuring, or killing another player without a valid roleplay reason.

Deathmatching is prohibited.

Examples include:

  • Attacking random players.
  • Killing someone without interaction.
  • Shooting someone because they annoyed you OOC.
  • Killing someone over weak or unrealistic reasons.
  • Using vehicles to intentionally injure players without valid RP.
  • Starting violence without meaningful roleplay buildup.

Violence must have proper IC reasoning and roleplay context.

12. Revenge Killing

Revenge killing is returning after death or serious injury to retaliate against those involved.

This is prohibited.

If your character is killed or severely incapacitated in a scene, you may not return to continue the same conflict unless staff specifically allows it.

You may not use death as a shortcut to re-enter a situation.

13. Character Death, PK & CK

GTARP:Network distinguishes between Player Kills (PK) and Character Kills (CK).

Player Kill (PK)

A PK represents severe injury, incapacitation, or temporary death.

A PK does not permanently remove a character.

Following a PK, players are expected to roleplay realistic injuries, recovery, and memory limitations where appropriate.

Character Kill (CK)

A CK permanently ends a character's story.

  • The character is permanently deceased.
  • The character may no longer be played.
  • The character may not be recreated.

Self Character Kill (Self CK)

Players may voluntarily end their character through the Self CK system.

A Self CK is final.

  • No appeal may be submitted.
  • No UNCK request may be submitted.
  • No review will be conducted.
  • The decision cannot be reversed.

Approved Character Kills

Official CKs may occur through approved Character Kill applications submitted through the forums.

Once an approved CK has been successfully carried out, it is considered final.

UNCK reviews will only be considered in exceptional circumstances such as:

  • Administrative error.
  • Technical error.
  • Fraudulent evidence.
  • Incorrect procedures.
  • Abuse of the CK system.

Character attachment, time invested, faction membership, or regret are not valid reasons for an UNCK.

Character Retirement

Players may voluntarily retire a character.

Retirement differs from a CK.

A retired character is considered inactive rather than deceased.

14. Combat Logging

Leaving the server to avoid roleplay, death, arrest, robbery, punishment, or consequences is prohibited.

Examples:

  • Disconnecting during a robbery.
  • Disconnecting during police interaction.
  • Disconnecting during combat.
  • Disconnecting to avoid being arrested.
  • Disconnecting to avoid injury or death.

If you crash or disconnect unintentionally, you should return as soon as possible and continue the situation.

15. Abuse of Game Mechanics

Players may not abuse FiveM, GTA V, scripts, animations, commands, or server systems to gain an unfair advantage.

Examples include:

  • Using bugs for money, items, vehicles, or escape.
  • Using animations to avoid damage.
  • Using commands to avoid consequences.
  • Exploiting inventory systems.
  • Using vehicle storage unrealistically.
  • Abusing safezones or markers.
  • Using scripts in unintended ways.

If you discover a bug, report it.

Do not use it.

16. Cheating, Mod Menus & Third-Party Software

Cheating is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

  • Mod menus.
  • Lua injectors.
  • Aimbots.
  • ESP.
  • Wallhacks.
  • Money cheats.
  • Vehicle cheats.
  • Macros that provide unfair advantage.
  • External tools that alter gameplay.
  • Any software used to gain unfair advantage.

Using, sharing, advertising, or assisting others with cheats may result in a permanent ban.

17. Visual Mods & Client Modifications

Purely visual modifications may be allowed if they do not provide an advantage.

Players are responsible for what they install.

Not allowed:

  • Mods that remove objects.
  • Mods that improve visibility unfairly.
  • Mods that change hitboxes.
  • Mods that change vehicle handling.
  • Mods that alter weapons.
  • Mods that provide tactical advantage.

If a modification gives you an advantage, it is not allowed.

18. Robbery Rules

Robberies must be roleplayed properly.

Players may not rob others without valid IC reasoning and proper interaction.

Robberies should:

  • Be realistic.
  • Allow the victim to respond.
  • Have proper IC motivation.
  • Avoid unnecessary violence.
  • Avoid excessive targeting of the same player.

Players may not rob others only because they want quick money or because they are bored.

Robberies should create roleplay, not replace it.

19. Scamming Rules

IC scams may be allowed when they are reasonable and roleplayed properly.

However, scams may not abuse OOC trust, server systems, staff systems, or unclear mechanics.

Not allowed:

  • OOC scams.
  • Real money scams.
  • Account scams.
  • Donation-related scams.
  • Bug or script abuse.
  • Scams involving staff impersonation.

Staff may void scams that are abusive, unrealistic, or harmful to the server.

20. Sexual Roleplay & Consent

Sexual roleplay is only allowed under strict conditions.

All involved parties must give clear OOC consent before the scene begins.

Sexual roleplay may only take place in private locations, such as a property or another place where uninvolved players are not expected to appear.

Any involved party may withdraw consent at any time.

If consent is withdrawn:

  • The roleplay stops immediately.
  • The situation is voided.
  • No one may pressure the player to continue.
  • No one may punish, mock, or harass the player for stopping.
  • No report should be made simply because someone withdrew consent.

Stop means stop.

Sexual roleplay involving minors, non-consensual sexual acts, sexual harassment, or attempts to pressure players OOC is strictly prohibited and may result in severe punishment.

21. Harassment & Toxic Behavior

Toxic behavior and harassment are prohibited.

Examples include:

  • OOC insults.
  • Targeted harassment.
  • Bullying.
  • Discrimination.
  • Threats.
  • Staff harassment.
  • Provocation.
  • Community disruption.
  • Encouraging others to attack someone.

IC conflict must stay IC.

Players may dislike each other’s characters without attacking each other OOC.

22. Discrimination & Hate Speech

Discrimination and hate speech are not tolerated.

This includes attacks based on:

  • Race.
  • Ethnicity.
  • Nationality.
  • Religion.
  • Gender.
  • Sexual orientation.
  • Disability.
  • Other protected or personal characteristics.

Context may be reviewed, but OOC hate speech, harassment, or targeted abuse may result in severe punishment.

23. Doxxing & Personal Information

Sharing or threatening to share personal information is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

  • Real names.
  • Addresses.
  • Phone numbers.
  • Private social media.
  • Private photographs.
  • Workplace or school information.
  • IP addresses.
  • Any personal information shared without consent.

Doxxing or threatening doxxing may result in a permanent ban.

24. Advertisements & Public Messages

IC advertisements must be used for legitimate IC purposes.

Advertisements may not be used for:

  • OOC messages.
  • Insults.
  • Trolling.
  • Spam.
  • Illegal coded messages that make no IC sense.
  • Harassment.

Advertisements should fit the roleplay world.

25. Chat Rules

Players may not misuse chat systems.

Prohibited behavior includes:

  • Spam.
  • Flooding.
  • Excessive caps.
  • OOC arguments in IC chat.
  • Using the wrong chat intentionally.
  • Using help channels for non-help purposes.
  • Advertising other communities.
  • Harassing players through chat.

Use the correct command or channel for the correct purpose.

26. Keybinds & Macros

Keybinds may be used for convenience if they do not create unfair advantage or low-quality roleplay.

Allowed:

  • Basic repeated roleplay actions.
  • Job-related roleplay messages.
  • Simple /me or /do assistance.

Not allowed:

  • Combat macros.
  • Automated farming.
  • Spam binds.
  • Instant multi-action binds that force roleplay.
  • Binds used to avoid proper interaction.

Keybinds should support roleplay, not replace it.

27. Vehicle Rules

Vehicles must be used realistically.

Not allowed:

  • Vehicle deathmatching.
  • Intentionally ramming players without valid RP.
  • Using vehicles as weapons without proper context.
  • Unrealistic stunt driving in serious RP areas.
  • Abusing vehicle mechanics.
  • Using vehicles to block roleplay unfairly.

Driving should match your character, vehicle, and situation.

Vehicle Theft is allowed and roleplaying your actions is required.
You may strip, use or forge documents for the vehicle.
Vehicles are automatically returned to their owner one week (seven (7) days) after hotwiring.

28. Police & Emergency Services Interaction

Players must roleplay realistically with law enforcement and emergency services.

Criminals may flee, resist, lie, and create conflict IC, but this must be done through proper roleplay.

Not allowed:

  • Cop baiting.
  • Attacking police without proper reason.
  • Calling police only to ambush them.
  • Refusing all medical roleplay.
  • Ignoring realistic injuries.
  • Using OOC arguments to avoid arrest.

Law enforcement and emergency services must also follow roleplay standards and may not abuse their IC authority.

29. Cop Baiting

Cop baiting is intentionally provoking law enforcement into chasing, arresting, or attacking you without meaningful roleplay reason.

Examples:

  • Repeatedly driving past police to force a chase.
  • Insulting officers only to start a pursuit.
  • Creating fake emergencies to lure police.
  • Committing pointless crimes in front of officers for attention.

Criminal roleplay is allowed.

Attention-seeking disruption is not.

30. Medical Roleplay

Players must respect medical roleplay.

If injured, players should roleplay injuries realistically.

Not allowed:

  • Ignoring serious injuries.
  • Immediately returning to combat after severe injury.
  • Refusing all medical interaction without reason.
  • Using death or respawn to escape consequences.

Medical roleplay exists to create consequences and story continuation.

31. Property Rules

Properties must be used realistically and fairly.

Players may not use properties to abuse mechanics, avoid roleplay, or create unfair advantages.

Not allowed:

  • Entering properties to avoid active roleplay without valid reason.
  • Abusing locked interiors.
  • Using properties to hide from staff.
  • Using property systems to trap players unfairly.
  • Using unrealistic furniture placement to block gameplay.

Detailed property rules may be posted separately.

32. Business Rules

Businesses must be used for roleplay, not only personal profit.

Business owners are expected to create interaction and maintain realistic operations.

Not allowed:

  • Using businesses only as money generators.
  • Abusing business systems.
  • Creating unrealistic business advertisements.
  • Using businesses to bypass faction or economy rules.

Detailed business regulations may be posted separately if required.

33. County & Population Focus

GTARP:Network may guide early roleplay toward specific areas of the map to encourage player interaction.

At launch or during lower population periods, the server may focus activity around the county or selected roleplay hubs.

This is not meant to permanently restrict roleplay.

The goal is to prevent players from being spread across the entire map with no interaction.

As the player base grows, roleplay may naturally expand into Los Santos and other areas.

Players should respect temporary server direction when staff or management announce population focus guidelines.

34. Factions, Groups & Organizations

Players may create legal or illegal groups through roleplay.

However, official faction status, faction perks, faction systems, or faction recognition may require a separate process.

Faction-related rules will be posted separately.

Until then, groups must follow general server rules.

Not allowed:

  • Creating groups for deathmatching.
  • Using offensive group names.
  • Impersonating official factions.
  • Claiming official authority without approval.
  • Starting wars without proper roleplay reason.

35. Faction Conflict

Faction conflict must be based on meaningful IC reasons.

Weak reasons such as simple insults, boredom, OOC dislike, or wanting action are not enough for major conflict.

Faction conflict should create storylines, not endless shootouts.

Detailed faction conflict rules will be posted separately.

36. IC Websites & Social Platforms

Some GTARP:Network websites or platforms may be considered IC.

This includes platforms such as Linked, the IC social media platform.

IC websites must be used as part of the roleplay world.

Players may not use IC platforms for:

  • OOC arguments.
  • Metagaming.
  • Harassment.
  • Rule evasion.
  • Posting information their character would not know.
  • Sharing staff or UCP information.

Detailed IC website and social media rules will be posted separately.

37. Forum, Discord & UCP

Unless clearly marked as IC, the forum, Discord, and UCP are OOC platforms.

Players may not use OOC platform information IC.

Reports, tickets, appeals, staff messages, UCP profiles, and Discord conversations are not IC knowledge.

Forum and Discord rules will be posted separately.

38. Account Rules

Players are responsible for their own accounts.

Not allowed:

  • Account sharing.
  • Selling accounts.
  • Buying accounts.
  • Using another player's account.
  • Creating accounts to avoid punishment.
  • Creating accounts to gain extra starting money.
  • Creating accounts to benefit another character or player.

You are responsible for actions taken on your account.

39. Ban Evasion

Ban evasion is prohibited.

This includes:

  • Creating a new account while banned.
  • Using another player's account.
  • Changing identifiers to avoid bans.
  • Helping someone else evade a ban.

Ban evasion may result in permanent removal from the community.

40. Real Money Trading

Trading in-game money, vehicles, property, items, accounts, or services for real-life money or goods is prohibited unless officially authorized by GTARP:Network.

Not allowed:

  • Selling in-game money.
  • Buying vehicles with real money from players.
  • Trading accounts.
  • Trading donations for IC assets outside approved systems.
  • Selling faction positions or property for real currency.

41. Server Economy Abuse

Players may not abuse the economy.

Examples:

  • Money farming through alternate accounts.
  • Using bugs for profit.
  • Artificially generating money.
  • Transferring starting bonuses for personal gain.
  • Using scripts in unintended ways to make money.

Economy abuse may result in asset removal, warnings, bans, or permanent bans depending on severity.

42. Reports & Evidence

Players may report rule violations through the proper systems.

Reports should include:

  • A clear explanation.
  • Names of involved players.
  • Date and time.
  • Screenshots.
  • Recordings.
  • Chat logs.
  • Any relevant context.

Players and staff may download chat logs through the UCP from a profile page when available.

False, malicious, or misleading reports may result in punishment.

43. Staff Interaction

Players must cooperate with staff during administrative situations.

Players may disagree with staff decisions, but they must do so through the correct channels.

Not allowed:

  • Ignoring staff instructions.
  • Lying to staff.
  • Harassing staff.
  • Arguing endlessly during active situations.
  • Threatening staff.
  • Opening repeated tickets about the same closed matter.
  • Attempting to manipulate staff decisions.

If you believe staff made a mistake, use the proper appeal or complaint process.

44. Appeals

Players may appeal punishments through the proper channels.

Appeals should be respectful and evidence-based.

An appeal is not a place for insults, threats, or arguments.

Staff will review:

  • Original evidence.
  • Punishment reason.
  • Player history.
  • Appeal explanation.
  • Any new evidence.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee removal of punishment.

45. Refunds

Refunds may be issued when a legitimate server-side issue caused a loss.

Refunds are not guaranteed.

Refund requests should include:

  • What was lost.
  • How it was lost.
  • When it happened.
  • Evidence.
  • Screenshots or recordings if available.

Refunds will generally not be issued for normal roleplay consequences, poor decisions, scams allowed by rules, or lack of evidence.

46. Advertising Other Communities

Advertising other communities, servers, Discords, or services without permission is prohibited.

This includes:

  • In-game chat.
  • Discord.
  • Forum.
  • Private messages.
  • UCP messages.

47. Server Disruption

Players may not intentionally disrupt the server or community.

Examples:

  • Mass trolling.
  • Spam attacks.
  • Encouraging rulebreaking.
  • Attempting to crash the server.
  • Organized harassment.
  • Abusing reports or tickets.
  • Interfering with staff work.

Severe disruption may result in permanent removal.

48. Unlisted Offenses

These rules cannot cover every possible situation.

Staff may take action against behavior not specifically listed when it clearly:

  • Damages roleplay.
  • Harms the community.
  • Creates unfair advantage.
  • Abuses systems.
  • Threatens server security.
  • Violates common sense.

This rule exists to protect the community from bad-faith behavior and loophole abuse.

49. Punishment Policy

GTARP:Network generally follows an educational punishment philosophy.

Players who make honest mistakes may be corrected or warned.

However, serious or malicious violations may result in immediate punishment.

Possible punishments include:

  • Verbal guidance.
  • Official Warning.
  • Kick.
  • Temporary Ban.
  • Permanent Ban.
  • Asset removal.
  • Character-related action.
  • Account action.

Three active Official Warnings result in an automatic 48-hour ban.

Severe violations may result in a temporary ban without prior warnings.

Extreme violations, cheating, mod menus, doxxing, or malicious attacks may result in a permanent ban.

50. Final Notes

GTARP:Network exists to create serious, enjoyable, text-based roleplay.

Players are expected to respect the server, the community, the rules, and the stories being created by others.

Rules are not here to stop roleplay.

Rules are here to protect roleplay.

Roleplay First.
Respect the Community.
Use Common Sense.
