GTARP:Network Official Server Rules

Factions are one of the core pillars of GTARP:Network.

Whether legal or illegal, factions help create stories, opportunities, conflicts, businesses, investigations, and long-term character development.

The purpose of this document is to explain:

  • Faction expectations.
  • Faction responsibilities.
  • Official faction requirements.
  • Legal faction guidelines.
  • Illegal faction guidelines.
  • Faction conflict standards.

1. What Is A Faction?

A faction is an organized group of characters working together toward a shared purpose.

Examples:

  • Law Enforcement.
  • Emergency Services.
  • Government Organizations.
  • Businesses.
  • Security Companies.
  • Motorcycle Clubs.
  • Street Gangs.
  • Criminal Organizations.
  • Cartels.
  • Community Organizations.
  • Religious Groups.
  • Media Organizations.

Not every group is automatically an official faction.

2. Unofficial Factions

Players may freely create unofficial factions through roleplay.

No approval is required to begin roleplaying a group.

Examples:

  • Starting a motorcycle club.
  • Creating a business team.
  • Starting a local street gang.
  • Creating a security company.
  • Creating a community organization.

The expectation is that these groups develop naturally through roleplay.

3. Official Factions

Official factions receive recognition from GTARP:Network.

Benefits may include:

  • Faction forum sections.
  • Faction management tools.
  • Faction funds.
  • Faction properties.
  • Faction vehicles.
  • Faction storage.
  • Official recognition.
  • Additional support from management.

Official status is earned through roleplay.

It is not given automatically.

4. How To Become Official

To be considered for official status, a faction should generally demonstrate:

  • Consistent activity.
  • Good leadership.
  • Meaningful roleplay.
  • Community contribution.
  • Stable membership.
  • Good reputation.
  • Long-term planning.

Applications may be submitted when management believes the faction has established itself within the roleplay environment.

Official status is never guaranteed.

5. Legal Factions

Examples:

  • LSPD.
  • LSFD.
  • Government Agencies.
  • Businesses.
  • Media Companies.
  • Security Services.
  • Transportation Companies.

Legal factions should:

  • Create public roleplay.
  • Serve the community.
  • Generate opportunities for players.
  • Maintain professional standards.
  • Avoid gatekeeping roleplay.

Leadership positions are expected to actively create roleplay rather than simply manage members.

6. Illegal Factions

Examples:

  • Street Gangs.
  • Motorcycle Clubs.
  • Mafias.
  • Cartels.
  • Organized Crime Groups.

Illegal factions exist to create criminal roleplay and storylines.

They do not exist to:

  • Deathmatch.
  • Farm weapons.
  • Farm money.
  • Create endless shootouts.
  • Terrorize the entire server.

The best criminal factions create stories, investigations, rivalries, and consequences.

7. Faction Leadership

Faction leaders are expected to:

  • Lead by example.
  • Maintain activity.
  • Promote roleplay.
  • Resolve internal issues.
  • Follow server rules.
  • Work with management when necessary.

Being a faction leader is a responsibility, not a reward.

Leadership may be reviewed if standards are not maintained.

8. Faction Conflict

Conflict between factions is allowed and encouraged when it is meaningful.

Examples:

  • Business competition.
  • Political disputes.
  • Gang rivalries.
  • Territorial disputes.
  • Criminal investigations.
  • Personal grudges.

Faction conflict must have proper roleplay development.

Not allowed:

  • Conflict for no reason.
  • Conflict based on OOC dislike.
  • Random wars.
  • Constant violence without story.
  • Harassment disguised as roleplay.

9. Violence & Escalation

Violence should be a last resort.

Not every disagreement should end in:

  • Shootouts.
  • Kidnappings.
  • Executions.
  • Raids.
  • Mass conflict.

Players are encouraged to explore alternatives such as:

  • Negotiation.
  • Business pressure.
  • Political influence.
  • Threats.
  • Blackmail.
  • Investigation.
  • Economic conflict.

Long-term stories are generally more valuable than short-term violence.

10. Recruitment

Faction recruitment should occur through roleplay whenever possible.

Mass recruitment without roleplay is discouraged.

Players should earn trust, positions, and responsibilities through character interaction.

11. Faction Funds & Assets

Faction assets exist for faction roleplay.

Examples:

  • Faction vehicles.
  • Faction money.
  • Faction properties.
  • Faction storage.

Leaders and members may not abuse faction resources for personal gain.

Misuse of faction assets may result in administrative action.

12. Faction Management Team (FMT)

GTARP:Network utilizes a Faction Management Team.

FMT may oversee:

  • Official faction applications.
  • Faction activity.
  • Leadership reviews.
  • Faction disputes.
  • Faction standards.
  • Faction development.

FMT exists to help factions succeed, not to control their roleplay.

13. Legal & Illegal Oversight

GTARP:Network may maintain separate oversight for:

  • Legal factions.
  • Illegal factions.

This allows both areas of roleplay to receive appropriate support and development.

Management may review factions that:

  • Become inactive.
  • Break server rules.
  • Damage roleplay quality.
  • Abuse systems.
  • Fail to meet expectations.

14. Faction Removal

Official faction status may be revoked.

Reasons may include:

  • Inactivity.
  • Leadership issues.
  • Repeated rule violations.
  • Abuse of systems.
  • Failure to maintain standards.

Whenever possible, factions will be given opportunities to improve before removal is considered.

15. Final Notes

Factions are one of the most important parts of GTARP:Network.

The goal is not to build the largest faction.

The goal is to create meaningful roleplay for the entire community.

Remember:

  • Create stories.
  • Create opportunities.
  • Develop characters.
  • Encourage interaction.
  • Promote roleplay.
  • Think long-term.
